Relationship Therapy for Individuals (Online)

You don't need a partner in the room to change your relationship patterns. Individual therapy provides a supportive space to understand your relationship dynamics, build healthy coping strategies, and practice new communication skills at your pace. Whether you're navigating conflict, breakups, boundary-setting, or repeating relationship issues, relationship therapy helps you feel clearer, calmer, and more connected to yourself and others.

Working with a therapist one-on-one gives you room to explore your emotional needs, recognize patterns that keep you stuck, and develop tools that actually work without waiting for anyone else to be ready.

What Individual Relationship Therapy Helps With

Individual therapy for relationships isn't just about romantic partners. It's about understanding how you show up in connection with others and learning to navigate relationship challenges with more confidence and clarity.

Meet Your Licensed Therapist

Hi, I’m Alayna.

I’m here to help you move through what feels heavy.

Welcome to therapy with Alayna—a space to feel seen, supported, and empowered. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina, and an LPC/MHSP in Tennessee. I offer virtual therapy for adolescents and adults across these states, and I’m currently accepting clients through both insurance and private pay.

My approach is client-centered and flexible, grounded in the belief that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and change. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of criticism.

I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I often use an eclectic treatment style—meaning I tailor our work to what’s most helpful for you, combining elements from different modalities to support your unique needs and goals.

I’ve worked in a variety of settings including private practice, outpatient, inpatient, and in-home therapy. My specialties include anxiety and OCD, mood disorders such as PMDD and bipolar disorder, relationship challenges, communication and boundary-setting, life transitions, women’s issues, and personality disorders.

Together, we’ll create a supportive space where you can build insight, develop practical tools, and take meaningful steps toward a life that feels fulfilling and aligned.

Individual relationship therapy can support you through:

  • Communication struggles and feeling unheard or misunderstood

  • Conflict cycles that repeat no matter who you're with

  • People-pleasing, overextending, or losing yourself in relationships

  • Anxious or avoidant attachment patterns

  • Boundary challenges like saying yes when you mean no

  • Rebuilding trust after betrayal or infidelity

  • Overthinking, rumination, or replaying conversations on a loop

  • Attachment wounds from childhood or past relationships

  • Grief and healing after a breakup or divorce

  • Navigating dating with anxiety or fear of rejection

  • Burnout in relationships, feeling drained or disconnected

If you've noticed the same patterns showing up across different relationships, individual counseling helps you understand why and gives you the tools to shift them.

Here's How We Begin

01.

Book a free 15-minute consultation

This call is a chance for us to connect and see if we’re a good fit. I’ll answer any questions you have, learn a bit about what brings you here, and share how I work. There’s no pressure to commit, just space to explore next steps.

02.

Start With A First Session

During our first session together I will ask some questions to get to know you better and the reason you are coming to therapy. We will explore some of your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. You will have an opportunity to ask me some questions about the process as well. This first session will be a chance for us to start building a therapeutic relationship, and create a safe and trusting environment for future sessions.

03.

Begin Your Therapy Journey

Together, we’ll create a rhythm for our sessions that fits your needs. We’ll explore challenges at your pace, uncover patterns, and build tools that support your healing and growth. This is your space—and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Is Individual Therapy Better Than Couples Therapy for Me?

If your partner isn't ready to attend therapy, or you want to work on your part of the relationship dynamics first, individual therapy provides momentum without waiting.

Individual relationship therapy is ideal if you:

✔ Want to understand your own patterns before inviting someone else into the process
✔ Need space to process your feelings without managing someone else's reactions
✔ Are navigating a breakup, separation, or relationship transition
✔ Feel like you're the only one willing to do the work
✔ Struggle with anxiety, overthinking, or self-blame in relationships
✔ Want to build communication and boundary-setting skills on your own terms

Relationship therapy for individuals gives you the clarity and tools to show up differently whether your partner joins you.

How Sessions Work (Client-Centered, Evidence-Based)

Therapy with Alayna is client-centered and eclectic, meaning we tailor each session to what's most helpful for you. There's no one-size-fits-all approach here, just a warm, non-judgmental space where you can explore what's really going on beneath the surface.

We might use:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and reframe thought patterns that fuel anxiety, insecurity, or conflict

  • Mindfulness-based techniques to help you regulate emotional responses and stay grounded in difficult moments

  • Solution-Focused Therapy to create clear, actionable next steps that move you forward

Together, we'll set clear goals, build gentle accountability, and practice new skills between sessions. You'll leave each session with something concrete to work with, not just insight, but tools you can actually use.

Therapy services are virtual and available for adolescents and adults in online therapy in Florida, online therapy in South Carolina, and online therapy in Tennessee.

Coping Strategies You'll Learn

Relationship counseling through individual therapy isn't just about talking—it's about building real-world skills that help you feel more confident and capable in your connections.

You'll develop:

  • Values-aligned boundaries that protect your energy without guilt

  • Self-soothing and co-regulation skills to manage anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Techniques to reframe unhelpful thoughts that fuel insecurity or defensiveness

  • Repair scripts for hard conversations—how to reconnect after conflict

  • Conflict de-escalation tools that help you stay calm when things get heated

  • Daily routines and practices that support your mental health and personal growth

These coping strategies aren't theoretical, they're practical, evidence-based tools designed to fit your life and your relationships.
