"I Feel Like a Different Person Before My Period"
The depression that comes out of nowhere. The rage over small things. Crying you can't explain. Feeling fine one week and completely falling apart the next.
You've probably been told it's "just PMS." You've tried to push through. But premenstrual dysphoric disorder isn't something you can willpower your way out of—and you shouldn't have to.
PMDD affects up to 10% of women during their reproductive years. It's recognized as a real mental health condition. And therapy can help you manage it.
Who PMDD Therapy Is For
This is for you if you experience severe emotional symptoms in the week or two before your period that disrupt your life—and then feel like yourself again once your period starts.

💚 You feel intense depression, anxiety, or hopelessness before your period
💚 Small frustrations trigger overwhelming anger or irritability
💚 You've damaged relationships or missed work during your luteal phase
💚 You feel out of control, like you're watching yourself from the outside
💚 You're exhausted from living two different lives every month
💚 You've been dismissed or told to "just deal with it"

If this sounds familiar, you don't have to keep white-knuckling through every cycle.
What You'll Get from PMDD Therapy

Understand Your Cycle
We'll track your symptoms and identify patterns so you know what's coming and can prepare—not just react.

Reduce the Impact on Your Life
Develop action plans for high-symptom days so PMDD doesn't keep derailing your work, relationships, and wellbeing.

Coordinate with Your Medical Care
If you're taking SSRIs or other medication for PMDD, therapy works alongside your medical treatment to give you the best results.
My Approach to PMDD Treatment
I use evidence-based approaches tailored to your specific symptoms, cycle patterns, and life.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) The most researched therapy for PMDD. CBT helps you identify negative thought patterns that intensify during your luteal phase, challenge catastrophic thinking, and build skills to manage anxiety and depression.
Mindfulness-Based Techniques Increase awareness and acceptance of difficult emotions and physical sensations. Learn to observe what you're feeling without being controlled by it—especially on the hardest days.
Solution-Focused Therapy We focus on what's working and build from there. You'll leave sessions with practical tools you can use immediately, not just insight.

Here's How We Begin
01.
Book a free 15-minute consultation
This call is a chance for us to connect and see if we’re a good fit. I’ll answer any questions you have, learn a bit about what brings you here, and share how I work. There’s no pressure to commit, just space to explore next steps.
02.
Start With A First Session
During our first session together I will ask some questions to get to know you better and the reason you are coming to therapy. We will explore some of your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. You will have an opportunity to ask me some questions about the process as well. This first session will be a chance for us to start building a therapeutic relationship, and create a safe and trusting environment for future sessions.
03.
Begin Your Therapy Journey
Together, we’ll create a rhythm for our sessions that fits your needs. We’ll explore challenges at your pace, uncover patterns, and build tools that support your healing and growth. This is your space—and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

Is It PMDD or Something Else?
PMDD is often confused with depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder. The key difference: PMDD follows your cycle.

Symptoms appear during the luteal phase (1-2 weeks before your period) and resolve within a few days after menstruation starts. If you feel depressed or anxious all month long, something else may be going on—and I can help you figure that out too.

Common PMDD symptoms include:
-
Severe depression, sadness, or hopelessness
-
Intense anxiety or feeling on edge
-
Sudden mood swings or uncontrollable crying
-
Anger or irritability that feels disproportionate
-
Difficulty concentrating
-
Fatigue, sleep changes, or food cravings
-
Feeling overwhelmed or out of control

If at least one mood symptom significantly disrupts your life each cycle, PMDD may be the cause.
